I took the liberty of sitting in on a BCOM class yesterday morning called Evangelism, Discipleship, and Community. In this class I took extensive notes as Dr. Hartford taught the mix of new freshmen, seasoned sophomores, and returning seniors.

One day T.A. Hegre, the soon to be founder of Bethany Chapel and eventually Bethany International, was struck by the story of Jesus being anointed by the sinful woman in Mark 14:8,9 because of the mere words, “she did what she could.” (vs. 8).
Twitter is a social network gaining momentum over the web. It was launched on January 15th of 2006 and since then has grown to 190 million users. Included in the cloud of users are our brothers and sisters in Christ, and they are sharing Jesus with everyone they tweet… I mean, meet.

These are just a few tidbits I’ve learned since I first started tweeting for BCOM over a year ago. Though this post is directed toward how ministries can use twitter, these tidbits can be used by anyone to grow their follower count.
We here at Bethany pray that we will draw people with the mindset of a loose grip on their lives. Their reward is Christ, their hope is found in Zion, their love is bursting forth, and their countenance bears a purpose far greater than their own well being.
Google is an excellent source of criticism on anything. You can look up articles and videos criticizing every kind of person, including Christian missionaries. You can also find Christians criticizing their critics… but is this the way it’s supposed to be?
