Application Process

To complete the application process for any Bethany College of Missions program, applicants must:

  • Submit all application components
  • Indicate agreement with Bethany’s  Statement of Faith
  • Agree to a basic background check, if deemed necessary by the college

The steps to completing the application process are:

1. Submit the application form

Filling out the application form is the first step in the application process. You can start the form and save it in order to complete it later if you need to. Be sure to submit the form when you are finished with it. A confirmation page will appear if the form has been successfully transmitted.

2. Send out reference forms

Click on the links below to send a reference form to each of the following:

  • Your pastor or youth pastor (if your pastor is a relative or if you do not know your pastor well, please choose another spiritual leader in your life, like a cell group or youth group leader, mentor, or mission trip leader)
  • A teacher or employer (instrument teachers, coaches, etc. are fine; someone who supervisors you as a volunteer, the parents of a child you babysit, etc. are also fine)

Reference forms  should be given to people who know you well and have known you over an extended time (at least 2 years, preferably).  We do not accept references from relatives. If you prefer to print off the forms PDF versions are available as well.

PDF version references can downloaded, filled out and then:

  • Scanned (both sides, please!) and sent as an email attachment
  • Faxed (again, both sides!)
  • Sent by mail (we recommend including a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the form if it is going to be mailed)

3. Request Your Transcripts

Download the transcript request form to request transcripts from all of the high schools and colleges you have attended.  If you have earned an Associates Degree or higher, we do not need your high school transcripts.

We do want all of your college transcripts, even if you have only taken one class or did not do as well as you would have liked. Official transcripts are required if you wish to have any college or Honor Academy credits considered for transfer.

Home-school graduates should send us their high school transcripts directly or request a transcript from your record-keeping organization if applicable.

Optional – Send us your ACT or SAT test results – Not required to apply, but highly recommended if you think you might qualify for our  Merit Scholarship (see our Financial Assistance Application form for criteria).

Application Processing and Review

If you do not currently have an email account this would be a good time to set one up and send us the address, since the majority of our communication to applicants is in the form of email. If you already have an email account please check it regularly.

Your completed application components will become part of your online profile in our student management database.  When we receive your first  component you will be assigned a user name  for your student profile and will be sent a welcome email. You can then log in to set up a personal password, giving you a bcom.org email address and access to your online information.

Your application is reviewed once all application components are received. You will typically receive a response from the Admissions Department within two weeks.

If you have any questions about the application process or our admissions policies, or to schedule a campus visit, don’t hesitate to contact us.
