Holiday Nightmare

storm clouds

All of you who have family problems, especially during the holidays, this one’s for you.

My family and I get along well, and I look forward to seeing my parents and brothers; But I’m writing this to those whose family life is not so pleasant around the holidays. Some reading this know storm clouds are swirling their way because of unresolved past offenses between family members. Although the holidays are meant to be joyful, I understand that for some Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New-Years seem more like nightmares.

I’m not writing to give answers to what’s causing the problems in your family. There are so many reasons why so many things aren’t how they should be. I’m writing to tell you that you must hold on. You may be seeing the squall of the holidays coming your way, just trust in the Lord to lead you, and cling tightly to Him. You might be the only light your family has, the only reflection of Jesus to them. Just keep holding on to the Lord. It’s going to be hard, but keep on clinging to the Him, steal away into secrecy with Him for a few moments. Ask Him for strength to go on bearing the fruit of the Spirit despite severe adversity. Remember, the Father is closer to you than you think because he loves you more than you’ll ever know.

I’ve thrown in two worship songs to listen to in secrecy with God, or perhaps you have some music of your own. Cling to God, seek His face in this storm. I’m praying for those who read this in hopes that you have a great holiday.
