Here is a listing of shopping centers within a reasonable distance of the campus, along with the stores that might be good sources of dorm-friendly items. You’ll want to go to the internet to get directions and store hours.
Valley West, Bloomington, MN (at France and Old Shakopee) – this is closest shopping area to the campus
Cub Foods, Marshalls, Snyder Drugs
It is the largest Mall in America and they are about to double it from what we here. You can find just about anything you would need, even an amusement park that sits right in the middle of the mall.
Recommended Directions:
Take a left out of the campus, then take a right onto Old Shakopee. Drive down just a little ways and you will see all the stores on your left.
Approximate Drive Time: 5 minutes
Southbridge Crossing, Savage, MN (at Hwy 169 and Hwy 18) – this is one of the shopping areas closest to the campus
Walmart, Sam’s Club, Home Depot
Recommended Directions:
Take a right out of the campus and then a left at Old Shakopee. Jump onto Hwy 169 heading South, and drive until you see Hwy 18. Get off at Hwy 18 and it will loop you around until you see all the stores.
Approximate Drive Time: 8 minutes depending on traffic
Eden Prairie Mall, Eden Prairie, MN (off of Hwy 494)
Target, Kohls, Sears, JC Penney
Walmart and Costco are across the street from the mall on one side; Best
Buy and Cub are across the street on another side. Circuit City Plaza is located close by too (Circuit City and Office Depot) There is a lot of stuff in this area, including the Eden Prairie library, so have fun exploring.
Recommended Directions:
Take a right out of the campus and then a left at Old Shakopee. Jump onto Hwy 169 heading North, and drive until you get to a stop light. At the stop light take a left. You will come to a little juncture shortly after that and take another left. Follow that road until you pass through the next stop light, and then the mall will be on your left. (There are other short cuts to the mall that might be faster if 169 is clogged, so ask around.)

Mall of America
It is the largest Mall in America and they are about to double it from what we here. You can find just about anything you would need, even an amusement park that sits right in the middle of the mall.
Recommended Directions:
The easiest way to get there is by taking a left out of the campus, then taking a right onto Old Shakopee, and then following it all the way across 35W and Highway 77 until you see the mall. You won't miss it because it is big!

IKEA, Bloomington, MN (right next to the Mall of America)
If you need anything for your dorm room, or just overall furniture, this place has some cheap but cool options. And it is really fun to walk through. You will see what we mean.
Walmart, Bloomington, MN (at Hwy 494 and Portland)
Recommended Directions:
Take a left out of the campus and head straight through the light at Old Shakopee. Keep going until you see the on ramp for Hwy 494 West. Get on 494 heading West until you see the Portland exit, where you will want to get off. Take a right after getting to the top of the ramp and you should see it.

Southtown, Bloomington, MN (at Hwy 494 and Penn)
Kohls; Herberger; Bed, Bath, and Beyond; Target is across the street
Recommended Directions:
Take a left out of the campus and head straight through the light at Old Shakopee. Keep going until you see the on ramp for Hwy 494 West. Get on 494 heading West until you see the Penn exit, where you will want to get off. Take a right after getting to the top of the ramp and you should see the stores.

Southdale Mall, Edina, MN (at France and York)
This mall is located in one of the wealthiest areas in Minnesota. It is a classy type of mall that is moderately big. Target is also close to the mall on York
Recommended Directions:
Take a left out of the campus and head straight through the light at Old Shakopee. Keep going until you see the on ramp for Hwy 494 West. Get on 494 heading West until you see the France exit, where you will want to get off. Take a left after getting to the top of the ramp and you will drive several miles down until you see it on your right.

Circuit City Plaza, Bloomington, MN (Hwy 494 and West 78th)
Office Depot, World Market, Circuit City
Recommended Directions:
Take a left out of the campus and head straight through the light at Old Shakopee. Keep going until you see the on ramp for Hwy 494 West. Get on 494 heading West until you see the France exit, where you will want to get off. Take a left after getting to the top of the ramp and you will drive about a 1/2 mile and take a left onto W. 78th Street.
