The Interim Term is between the completion of the first year of studies and the beginning of the Global Internship. While this term has a more open and personally paced schedule, to provide a “break” for students, there are also a number of important things for students to do to make sure they are ready for their experience in another culture! For the interim term, we expect each person to remain engaged on several levels. All of these are considered part of the degree program of the college and therefore there are specific requirements we do expect them to fulfill. Below we outline these requirements, and give specific instructions for each. Also, if you would like to skip down and see the courses for this term, please click here.
During the final term on campus, we will ask each student to create their own personal spiritual development plan and designate an accountability partner for that plan. Each person will provide a weekly statement for accountability to their future Global Internship team members through an online forum. They will also hold each other up in prayer and continue forming a sense of community with each other during the term. Finally, as both a spiritual development aid and a team building aid, we ask the students to maintain a consistent daily scripture reading schedule and post some reflections online.
There will be an online discussion based course on the New Testament book of Hebrews. Students will be required to read through the book, reflect on several questions, post their questions to a web-based forum, read their classmates’ answers to the question, and post responses to those answers.
Obviously, each student needs to raise support for their internship and will have learned several good principles for this during their first year. In order to stay on track they will be asked to put together a plan and report each week on how they are fulfilling that plan. And finally, they will also be asked to do some self-paced work to establish good financial management strategies for themselves.

During this term they will be required to speak not only to their home church but other gatherings of believers and share the missionary message. The natural result will be an increased support base for their internship.
