God is faithful in all of our lives to give each of us what we need. In contrast, we’ll only get what we want if we actually go after it. If you want to be anointed in ministry, fruitful in your relationships or sacrificial in your service it won’t happen on accident; you’ll need to fight for those things. True spiritual growth cannot be forced on any student externally but must be an inward yearning for God. David cried out, ‘as the deer pants for water so my soul longs after Thee.’ Though external pressure won’t make you a spiritual student, being immersed into a spiritually charged environment will help. And the environment at BCOM is charged.
In addition to course material, you will be required to read through the entire Bible during your first year on campus. You will spend 3-4 hours each week in the Bethany House of Prayer, both crying out for God personally and interceding for the nations. You will be part of a small group which meets regularly to grow together and you will live in a community of people desperate for Jesus . The New Testament model for Christian leaders includes fasting and as a result we regularly fast together. The development of your spiritual life will modeled after the Sermon on the Mount.
