We’re so excited that God is calling you to serve Him as a cross-cultural missionary! Each year we enroll a number of students from countries outside of the U.S. These students are a blessing to our campus and as they graduate from our program they become a light to the world.
In order to apply to Bethany College of Missions, you will need to complete a set of application forms, and meet several other requirements.
Before filling out any forms, please read the following:
• The rest of the information on this page
• The Dates and Deadlines page
• The Information for Couples and Families (if you are married, engaged, or a parent)
Important for Married Applicants:
Please note that if you are married it is required that both you and your spouse apply and enroll as students. If you have children the husband will be a full-time student and the wife will be a part-time student. We do not allow for couples to separate for the sake of training. We do not make any exceptions to this policy, so if this is not possible for your family, please do not apply.
All items submitted to Bethany College of Missions must be submitted in English. If some of your documents are not in English (references, transcripts, etc), you must have them translated before sending them to us. If they are not translated, we will disregard the document. Thank you.
The following forms must be filled out and submitted to the college as part of the application process:
• Teacher/Employer Reference Form
ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL (no questions left blank, all pages received etc) before we will answer questions or provide additional information.
In addition, in order to complete the application process you must:
• Provide high school transcripts
• Provide college transcripts (high school transcripts are not necessary if you have taken 16 or more college credits)
Please note: a Transcript Request Form is available for your use in requesting the transcripts from your former school(s). Please feel free to print off this form and use it when making your request.
• Submit proof of English proficiency. If English is your first language, or if you have studied in high school and/or college in the English medium please note this in your application and send us a 3 – 5 page written essay on any topic, so that we may evaluate your written communication skills.
If English is not your first language: please send the results of the TOEFL exam and a 3 – 5 page written essay on any topic.
• Submit a $30 application fee (same for singles and couples) is required in order to complete your application to Bethany.
All fees (including the application fee may be paid using any of these methods:
1) Cashier’s checks or U.S. Bank Drafts drawn from a U.S. bank or payable through a major U.S. bank (most major banks in foreign countries will be able to sell cashier’s checks payable through a U.S. bank; there is a fee from the bank for this service)
2) U.S. Dollar Money Orders
3) Wire transfer of funds in U.S. dollars (instructions available upon request); there is a fee from the sending bank and the receiving bank for this service – we do not recommend wiring money within the U.S.; a check or money order is preferable.
4) Traveler’s checks cut in U.S. dollars and payable through a US bank
IMPORTANT!
All fees must be paid in U.S. dollars only. We are unable to process payments made with foreign currencies or payments with unofficial indications of exchange to U.S. dollars (e.g. a handwritten note on a check indicating that the check was cut in U.S. dollars).
It is not necessary to submit all documents at the same time. However, we will not review your application until everything is received.
Use one of the following methods to submit application materials
• Send everything by mail to:
Bethany College of Missions
Admissions Office
6820 Auto Club Rd, Suite C

(the application fee can also be sent here):

The Application Process for International Applicants
1) Once Bethany receives all of your application materials the Admissions office will review your file.
2) If approved you will be notified by e-mail; an acceptance letter and an invoice will be sent by e-mail as well.
3) At that time you will submit the fees for your first term of studies and for one year of medical insurance (if needed). You will also be asked to submit additional acceptance paperwork (medical information, etc)
4) When the college receives the funds, we will enter your name in the U.S. government SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System) database as an approved international student and we will generate an I-20 form for you, and send it to you.
5) You will then pay a fee on-line to SEVIS and will be able to apply for a student visa.
Note: We will not send the I-20 form to you until all fees have been paid in full. We make no exceptions to this policy.
1) Once you begin the application process you must complete all requirements within 12 months. After 12 months your file is no longer considered active and all paperwork is destroyed.
2) If you are denied admission, all paperwork is destroyed.
3) Should you choose to re-apply in the future, all application materials will need to be re-submitted to the college.
Detailed financial information will be sent to you by e-mail once you have been accepted as a student. For now you can estimate that the total cost for a single student (including all school fees, room, board, and insurance) for one year is about $9,900; for couples the minimum cost is about $16,000.
You may qualify for certain discounts. You will have the opportunity to apply for discounts after you are accepted. Because we keep costs to the students as low as possible at all times there are no scholarships available through the college. Occasionally a private donor may provide scholarship money for needy students. If any scholarship funds are available, information and instructions will be posted on our web site. If there is not posting on the site, no scholarships are currently available.
