You would lose heart quickly if the surgeon who was about to operate on you had never been part of a surgery before. We’d be more than a little nervous recommending a student to a missions sending agency if he/she had been trained for missions but never been part of the real work of ministry before. From day one to the day they graduate your student will be learning from their experiences. This approach is intensified as their Global Internship progresses but truly from day one, learning will not be static nor be limited to a classroom. From time in the House of Prayer, evangelism opportunities, cell group, practical training, various styles of informal learning experiences and of course, Global Internship, they'll be learning while doing. We've witnessed that those trained through experiential learning combined with formal academic instruction are better prepared than those with only the latter.
