Home school graduates go through the same application process as any other students; however, you may find the following information helpful to you in particular as a home schooling family:

1) Approximately one quarter of our student body is made up of home school graduates.

2) Many home school families appreciate our small class sizes, intimate
community setting and emphasis on personal mentoring.

3) We have chosen to remain non-accredited for the purpose of focusing solely on the course work and activities that will train students to love and listen to God, and become effective Christian ministers. No liberal arts courses are offered.

4) The majority of our faculty have served as missionaries and a number on the staff have home schooled their own children on the mission field and in the U.S.

5) Home school graduates qualify to receive a $600 discount from Bethany
College of Missions.

6) Qualified local high school students (age 16 and up with a current CGPA of 3.0 or higher) are eligible to take commuter courses at BCOM for college credit. Our modular class schedule is ideal for home-schooling students, as
most courses last for no more than 4 weeks.

7) Applicants to BCOM must complete high school level work equivalent to
the graduation requirements in their home school district. A transcript of high school work to date is requested at the time of application, and a CGPA of 2.0 or higher is required for admission.

8) There are no particular high school level courses required of applicants to BCOM. However, the curriculum and activities in which our students
engage rely on a good foundation in written and oral communication,
reading, and research methods. Keep in mind, as you plan your home
school curriculum that any interest or talent can be used of God on the mission field!

9) We do not require that applicants take the ACT or SAT exam as part of our application process.
